A Docker app and PostgreSQL database can run on the same VPS, but they should not be treated as one vague workload. Containers, database memory, disk writes, backups, logs, and monitoring all compete for resources. Before choosing a server, map what runs constantly, what spikes, what writes to disk, and what must be restored first if something fails.
