I didn’t need another job at that point in my career. I needed real leadership. At another point in my career I had a Supervisor who had a major impact on my growth in property management came at a time when I needed strong leadership the most. Eric Bullock He stepped in during a difficult point in my career and gave me the structure, support, and clarity I needed to move forward. But more importantly, he taught me the depth of the work. I was introduced to: • tax credit and HOME programs • SRO housing • working within communities serving individuals with substance use challenges and HIV/AIDS • navigating relationships with caseworkers and support services It was a completely different level of responsibility one that required not just operational knowledge, but patience, awareness, and strong communication. He also showed me what real leadership looks like. When opportunities started opening up for me, he continued to coach and support me even knowing it could mean I would move on and he would have to start over training someone new. That stuck with me. The best leaders don’t hold people back they prepare them to move forward. And that kind of leadership shapes how you show up for others long after. Looking back, the biggest lessons in my career didn’t come from training they came from the people I worked with.
