𝐀𝐋𝐔𝐌𝐍𝐈 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 Get to know Evan Hull, a 2025 Multimedia Journalism grad 👋 Evan is the Marketing Coordinator for Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Montgomery County Regional Tourism! He encourages students to take advantage of every opportunity during their undergrad. 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡: Tie between Digital Newsroom with Jared Woolly and Media Writing with Dale Jenkins 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐣𝐨𝐛: “The best part of my job is that I'm always on the move. Whether I'm flying a drone over the New River for content, interviewing tourism partners for an article, or designing signage across the three localities, I learn something new every day. I'm so grateful to be surrounded by people who support my wild ideas and help bring them to life.” 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: “Pursue opportunities early, even if they aren't totally in-line with your ultimate goals. Don't wait until you are a sophomore or junior to find an internship at a news station or media agency. Write for your local newspaper, manage a nonprofit's social media, and keep applying for the roles you want!”
