We are proud to share the publication of “Accelerating Mission Engineering: Evidence of a Stratified Landscape and a Path Toward Unified Practice” in Systems Engineering https://lnkd.in/eDqh4mZj. This work marks an important contribution to the maturation of Mission Engineering as a systems engineering discipline. The paper analyzes more than a decade of Mission Engineering scholarship and finds that adoption challenges are not caused by competing theories, but by practical barriers such as complexity, limited opportunities for application, and fragmented collaboration. In response, the authors present a formalized ten-step Mission Engineering process that links mission objectives, mission threads, tasks, capabilities, systems, and performance measures into a traceable, repeatable framework. This accomplishment advances the field by providing a clearer path for consistent implementation, stronger interoperability, and broader adoption across mission analysis, acquisition, and system-of-systems engineering. #MissionEngineering #SystemsEngineering #DigitalEngineering #MissionAnalysis #SystemsOfSystems #Innovation #EngineeringLeadership Nathan Ambler Maegen Nix Casey L.
