As part of the International Year of the Woman Farmer, we continue to highlight how women help shaping the future of agriculture. šŸ‘©šŸ¼ā€šŸŒ¾šŸ® Meet Janna de Kort. Together with her parents and her partner, she runs the family dairy farm in Hilvarenbeek, the Netherlands. Alongside the farm, they operate a farm shop, bringing consumers closer to locally produced food. As a passionate and ambitious woman with a genuine love for farming, Janna is building a future-proof business that she can eventually run independently. Innovation plays an important role to run the farm by herself. Janna is currently renovating the barn, introducing a milking robot and gradually transitioning to Jersey cows. All aimed to improve both efficiency and animal welfare. At the same time, Janna believes that farming is about much more than technology. Caring for the animals, working outdoors and seeing the results of your efforts every day are what make the profession so rewarding. Janna has also seen the role of women in agriculture become increasingly visible. More women are taking on leadership roles, bringing new perspectives while building on generations of knowledge and experience. She hopes this will encourage even more young women to see agriculture as a profession full of opportunities. Her story shows how passion, innovation and family values come together to help build a resilient future for agriculture. #IYWF #FoodthatMatters
