"We need Enterprise Architects, but we're locked into consultancy agreements and keep getting Solution Architects." ✍ I track companies that use consultancies and are not happy with the service they receive around Enterprise Architecture. Across 2025/2026, that total now stands at 37 organisations. So I thought I would put the question to the architecture community yesterday. The results so far are alarming (see graphic below), with 89% of respondents rating the service they received between C and F, citing either an average service or receiving a Solution Architect dressed up as an Enterprise Architect. Considering the conversations I have had recently with CFO's it feels apt that we are talking about this.
