Right, so we have established by now that Enterprise Architecture has a positioning problem Ignore the people who think its specific to a region, their is evidence of EA dilution worldwide. Speaking with architects around the world, I see the same cycle repeated over and over again. ♻️ EA is brought in to support strategy. 📈 Delivery pressures increase. 🪖 EAs get pulled into programmes and projects. 🪄 Strategic time disappears. 🟰 The value of EA becomes unclear. 🟰 The function is questioned, reduced or removed. Then complexity increases. ⤵️ ⬆️ More platforms. ⬆️ More AI. ⬆️ More vendors. ⬆️ More transformation. The organisation realises it lacks alignment and Enterprise Architecture is brought back in. And the cycle repeats. ♻️ The more EA is pulled into delivery, the less time it has to perform the activities that justify its existence in the first place. The question isn't whether organisations need EA. It's whether they position it to succeed. And in most cases, they don't. #EnterpriseArchitecture #BusinessArchitecture #EA #CIO #CTO #CFO #TechnologyStrategy #DigitalTransformation #Architecture #Leadership #ArtificialIntelligence #Innovation
