Not because there was no noiseโbut because my heart was trying to catch up with the moment. It felt like something wasnโt adding up. A girl from West Kanyamkagoโฆ standing in a room filled with some of the most powerful women in Nyanza. Women I had only heard about. Women who had already become what many of us are still praying for. I saw Ida Odinga. I saw Millie Odhiambo Mabona , โ๐๐ข๐ฅ ๐๐ช๐ณ๐ญ ๐๐ช๐ญ๐ญ๐ช๐ฆ, ๐๐ฎ๐ช๐ญ๐ฐ ๐๐ข๐ฅ ๐๐ช๐ณ๐ญโ, bold as ever. I saw Gladys Wanga. And thenโฆ I saw myself. For a second, I wanted to look behind meโฆ just to be sure they were really calling my name. Because deep down, a small voice whispered, "๐ช๐ด ๐ต๐ฉ๐ช๐ด ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐บ ๐บ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ณ๐ด?" To this day, it still feels like a dream.๐ Not because I donโt believe I worked for itโฆ but because I know where it all started. I know the roads I have walked. I know the moments no one saw. The doubts. The silence. The days when nothing made sense.๐ญ And yetโฆ step by step, something was building. ๐ฑ That night, I didnโt just receive an award. That your story, no matter how ordinary it seems, can carry extraordinary impact.
