International Delegation Inspects Aquarevo: Villawood Properties’ Aquarevo community in Melbourne continues to draw international attention for its super water-efficiency, the latest with a delegation of Bangladesh water management, social science, finance, economic and public health experts. Aquarevo’s 500 homes are equipped with water-saving features that reduce the use of drinking water for toilet flushing, showers and baths, garden watering and laundry uses. Householders are achieving an average reduction of around 40 per cent in drinking water use, with some reducing use by up to 80 per cent. Aquarevo, a collaboration with South East Water and recipient of an Environment Excellence Award from the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Victoria, delivers broader benefits including a 20 per cent reduction in rainwater runoff, helping to lower flooding risk and protect local waterways.
