Senior Manager, Capgemini Invent | The Chief Patient Officer | Working on the missing layer between data and action in healthcare

A few days ago, I spoke at the "Bits & Bytes – Das Krankenhaus der Zukunft conference" at the LKH-Univ. Klinikum Graz Not about robots, VR, or instant AI diagnoses. But about something we tend to forget: the people these systems are built for. In health innovation, we often ask: what's possible with technology? But the real question is: for whom are we building it? Today, we discuss AI, data spaces, and digital platforms extensively. I love these topics... Yet the hospital of the future is not a server. It's a learning system. One that becomes smarter with every person it serves. Its foundation isn't algorithms or dashboards. It's the relationship between clinicians, caregivers, and patients. That's where trust is built. That's where effectiveness begins. That's where learning happens. People are the platform for medical innovation. And if we take that seriously, everything changes: How we design technology. How we use data. How we define responsibility. The future doesn't start in the lab.
