This year's Anil Agarwal Dialogue hosted a special lunch for the participants. Seeds: A Savoury Saga celebrates survival. First, seeds can be stored for long periods. Second, they can grow into new plants. Third, each seed stores genetic material that constantly adapts to changing environmental conditions, passing these traits for resilience from one generation to the next. These seeds have been used to prepare traditional dishes across the country and the lunch brought together some of these tastes. Here are some snapshots from this lunch For decades, CSE has worked on food-related issues, with a particular focus on using India’s biodiversity as food. I encourage you to explore the four volumes of First Food, which form the knowledge base from which we curate our special AAD meals. these are available at CSE stor (https://lnkd.in/geJrdtJe) We were also inspired by some of the recipes shared with us by participants of our recipe contest My Food Story. These are available on a dashboard on the CSE site. https://lnkd.in/gvCkGMgi Also take a look at our report on community seed banks which documents climate-resilient seeds in the country. https://lnkd.in/gcikMQYC Centre for Science and Environment, New Delhi Down To Earth Souparno Banerjee Ajit Bajaj Sukanya Nair Shimali Chauhan Joel Michael
