The World Bank Group - International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings served as an opportunity for our senior VEON delegation to share our development objectives with our stakeholders in the policy space, including with key U.S. stakeholders. In our U.S. stakeholder meetings, we shared our long-standing commitment to enabling growth in underserved markets 🇺🇲 📱 Chairman and Founder, Augie K Fabela II, and Johan Buse, CEO of banglalink, met with Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce Bill Guidera to discuss VEON’s expanding partnerships with U.S. firms in areas including AI, software, connectivity, and hardware, and to explore the Department of Commerce’s new initiative launched this month to promote American AI Exports overseas. 🤝 With U.S. International Development Finance Corporation representatives Conor Coleman and Zain Shamim we discussed the priorities to foster development and help our markets reach their digital ambitions. 🛰️ Our delegation also met with Arielle Roth, U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information and Administrator of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) sharing how emerging markets are scaling innovation and unlocking growth for billions of people.
