🇧🇷 Three days of inspiration, recognition, and meaningful connections at the Water Loss 2026 Conference organised by the International Water Association in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil! Alongside our colleagues from Veolia | Brasil, Aguas Andinas, Interagua Ecuador, Veolia | Chile and our HQ Business Support & Performance Department, Veolia | Engineering & Consulting was proud to take centre stage sharing the Group's expertise in NRW Reduction and Utility Transformation projects across more than 70 countries. Here are our highlights from the event: 🎤 A presentation that sparked the conversation: Rainer Morel and Sébastien Kluth made the case on Wednesday 29th that NRW reduction is not just an operational priority, it's a long-term sustainability imperative, especially in regions facing depletion and scarcity of resources due to climate change, and/or dependency on carbon intensive water production. 🏆 Peer recognition for our work in Tanzania: our 2.5 year project with DAWASA in Dar es Salaam received well-deserved recognition → 8,100 m³/day of NRW reduction across 15 DMAs, 300 km of water supply mains and 19,000 connections. Kudos to Joe Dalton for your great presentation on Tuesday 28th! 👏 A tribute to outstanding leadership: the entire IWA Water Loss community united to recognise Stuart Hamilton as he steps down as Chair of the IWA Water Loss Specialist Group (WLSG). Stuart's vision and leadership have been instrumental in elevating water loss management across our industry, thank you! And a warm welcome to Gary Wyeth as the incoming Chair, we look forward to what's ahead! 🥇 An IWA WLSG Award for the whole team: we were honoured to receive the trophy at the closing gala, recognising our efforts in "Strengthening Capacity in Water Management". This one belongs to every utility and partner staff member who has worked alongside us to achieve lasting results on the ground! 📍 Water Loss 2028: see you in Muscat! Congratulations to the Sultanate of Oman, and NWS-Nama Water Services for hosting the next edition in a destination close to our heart. For over 20 years, VEOLIA, including the Engineering and Consulting activity, has supported Oman's water and wastewater sector as part of the country's sustainable development of essential services for the country’s population. A heartfelt thank you to IWA WLSG and ABES Saneamento for organising such an exceptional event, bringing together more than 800 professionals committed to improving network performance, water conservation and operational efficiency.
