Very glad to share a new publication titled "Engineering a Bicistronic Expression System for Mammalian Cell-Based Production of Biofunctional Recombinant Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) of Bos indicus Origin" in 'Biotechnology Journal' with me as a co-author. In this study, we ✅ Developed a bicistronic P2A-based mammalian expression system to efficiently produce biologically active recombinant bovine FSH from Bos indicus (rbiFSH). ✅ Report the coordinated expression and heterodimerization of bioactive recombinant FSH, addressing a longstanding challenge in achieving balanced expression of FSHα and FSHβ subunits. This enables proper production of bioactive recombinant FSH hormone from mammalian cells. ✅ Report for the first time, a conserved Bos indicus-specific Single Nucleotide Polymorphism in the FSHβ gene. ✅ Demonstrate an efficient in-vitro platform for generating indigenous recombinant bovine FSH, with promising applications in assisted reproductive technologies and cattle breeding. I had the privilege to be guided by Dr. Subeer S. Majumdar and Dr. Nirmalya Ganguli in this work. Many congratulations and sincere thanks to the joint first authors Dr. Abhishek Das & Srimoyee Koner and to all my co-authors Dewanshu Sharma, Meenakshi Mansukhani, Amit Pal, SATARUPA DUTTA, Dr. Mohammad Kadivella,PhD, Dr. Sarwar Azam and Dr. Souvik Sen Sharma 📖 https://lnkd.in/gds7y5x6 #RecombinantProteins #MammalianCellCulture #FSH #Biotechnology
