Transformation does not happen by accident. At the Bureau of Standards Jamaica, the work of national development often takes place through systems that may not always be visible to the public, but which are essential to trade, consumer protection, industry development and national competitiveness. From digital transformation and laboratory expansion, to standards development, metrology reform, scientific research, export of BSJ services, energy efficiency and training, the work being done by the BSJ team continues to show what is possible when vision is matched by discipline and execution. I have taken some time to reflect on a few of these achievements, and more importantly, to recognise some of the people whose competence and commitment helped to carry the work forward.
