Millions of police crash reports sit in national databases, decades of real-world knowledge about how vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists collide. Yet engineers working on automated driving systems cannot easily use any of it, because simulation requires quantitative inputs, not natural language narrations. Vayavya Labs has built a toolchain that converts databases of textual accident descriptions into databases of physically valid simulation scenarios, covering multiple plausible ways each accident could have unfolded rather than committing to a single reading of events. This also turns out to be more useful than replaying recorded sensor logs, which capture one path through a dangerous moment, possibly the most forgiving one. Generated scenarios export to OpenSCENARIO and OpenDRIVE and support scenario-based safety validation as required by standards like ISO 21448 (SOTIF). š§āš» Read more in the whitepaper: https://lnkd.in/gW3SHrKg #ADASValidation #FunctionalSafety #SOTIF #OpenSCENARIO #AutomotiveSafety
