💥 In 2013 Miquel Solà wrote a nice review covering 40 years history of the ingenious Clar's aromatic sextet in organic chemistry. ❗ Since then a great deal of progress has been made in the synthetic chemistry mostly due to the development of the on-surface synthesis and improvements in characterization tools. Beautiful AFM images of Kekulene molecule have been obtained by Diego Peña and Coworkers (& Co), [n]-acenes has been extended to pentadecacene by Michael Gottfried & Co, many topologically frustrated non-Kekuleans with polyradical nature that deemed to be impossible have been synthesized by Shantanu Mishra, Roman Fasel & Co. In all cases, like for hexabenzocoronene before, the Clar's sextet has indicated to be a useful tool for chemical structure analysis. ‼️ Despite of this practical advance, there seems to be a lack of progress in the chemical structure analysis automation. With the power of #WolframLanguage we step into this gap in hope to make a useful contribution. #research #education #nanotechnology #chemistry #structuretheory #valencebondtheory #polyradicals #polycyclic #aromatic #hydrocarbons #PAH #nanographenes #math #graphtheory #mathematica #wolfram #programming #coding #art #opencode #opensource
