"Vessels have been replaced by babies, and suddenly you're connected by much more than work."   That's how Camilla Johansen, Business Development Manager at Vard Electro, describes VARD's first parental leave gathering, organized through Social by VARD. With colleagues from headquarters, the yards, and other locations joining the gathering, the initiative got off to a strong start.   "It's nice to meet on different terms. The conversations become more personal, and you get to connect with colleagues who are going through many of the same experiences."   For Camilla, the gathering was also a valuable way to stay connected while away from work.   "It's a great initiative and a nice way to keep in touch with colleagues while getting to know new people from across locations, people you might not otherwise cross paths with."   As the parental leave gathering becomes a regular monthly initiative, Camilla hopes even more colleagues will take the opportunity to join.   "It's a low-threshold way to get to know others and stay connected during parental leave. I would definitely encourage even more people to join."   At VARD, we know that strong connections don't stop when parental leave begins.
