Vanta is donating the AARM (Autonomous Action Runtime Management) specification to the Cloud Security Alliance. AARM defines a new system category: runtime security for AI agents—systems that intercept agent actions before they execute, evaluate them against full session context, and ensure every decision is auditable. As agents move from generating text to taking real actions across systems, this layer becomes critical. Traditional security wasn’t built for this shift. By donating AARM to CSA, we’re establishing a neutral, industry-backed standard to help builders, buyers, and practitioners converge on how agent runtime security should work.
