"The Uncounted Kingdom By Valmik Mundkur What realm is this, where faces pass unnamed, And numbers drift like leaves upon the wind? Can Justice pour her cup where none are known, Or Mercy weigh the souls she cannot find? The crown that counts not hearts, but passing dust, Builds towers high on unseen, shifting sand. For every law begins with but one truth— To know the people held within its hand. What price hath Water, if no voice is heard? What worth hath Bread, if tables bear no names? Can Reason cast her ledger to the stars, While hidden lives are absent from her claims? The river asks no kingdom whom it serves; It flows alike to emperor and child. Yet men must choose whose thirst shall first be quenched, Lest power leave Compassion undefiled. For Governance is not the art of rule, Nor merely sums inscribed in royal gold; It is the covenant of seeing first The youngest life, the weakest to behold. Count not the coins before thou count the souls. Measure not wealth before thou measure need. A nation's greatness springs not from its might, But from the care bestowed on every seed. And if the State forget the face it serves, The map remains, yet all the realm is lost. For every unacknowledged citizen Becomes the silent measure of the cost. Therefore arise, O Conscience of the land, And ask what kings and councils must answer still: "Who are the people for whom we build tomorrow?" For there begins the Republic. And there alone endures her will."
