I help turn digital ambitions into operational reality
What does an IoT customer really want to buy? People buy IoT for exactly the same reason they buy any other business solution - they have a problem they need solved. It feels like I'm stating the obvious: they want confidence they're making the right investment in the right solution that: ✓ integrates into their business ✓ is adopted by their people ✓ delivers value quickly and ✓ continues to perform throughout its expected lifecycle. The real product is confidence that a business problem has been solved & will stay solved - they're buying certainty, not technology. That's why Daniel Ammann's recent post showcasing how technology has transformed cleaning operations at Zurich Airport Ltd was, for me, the perfect example of what an organisation is actually buying. He wasn't celebrating sensors, connectivity or software, he was proudly showcasing what happens when people, processes and performance are brought together in one system: An operational outcome that others in the same industry want to come see, discuss and learn from. When your peers travel to see how you've solved a problem, that's recognition earned through execution. You must be doing something right. To me, that's the strongest endorsement any IoT solution can receive - it's the kind of credibility no amount of marketing or salesmanship can buy. #iotasitshouldbe | #datathatdelivers | #smarterbusiness | #digitaltransformation
