How are AI and automated driving changing vehicle architecture? This question was at the heart of the keynote by Joachim Mathes, CTO of the Valeo BRAIN Division, on Modular Computing at the automotiveIT car.summit in Munich November 11. The presented Modular Central Compute Cluster demonstrates how vehicle data can be efficiently consolidated across three layers: zone controllers, central SoCs (System-on-Chips), and the connectivity hub. Thanks to its modular design, hardware upgrades and new functions can be implemented throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle. During the “Software-Defined Vehicle” roundtable, industry leaders exchanged inspiring insights and engaging discussions about the opportunities and challenges of software-based vehicle architectures.
