🚗🤖 Excited to share our latest perspective paper "The AI-Defined Vehicle: Navigating the Convergence of AI and Autonomous Systems". The automotive industry is entering a new era. We argue that the evolution is no longer just from Hardware-Defined to Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs), but towards AI-Defined Vehicles (AIDVs) where AI becomes the core of vehicle intelligence, enabling vehicles to continuously learn, adapt, and evolve. In the paper, we discuss: ✅ The transition from SDVs to AI-Defined Vehicles ✅ The role of Generative AI, Agentic AI, edge computing, and V2X communication ✅ Self-evolving vehicle architectures powered by continuous learning and Digital Twins ✅ The importance of safety, trustworthiness, cybersecurity, explainability, and regulation for next-generation mobility It was a privilege to collaborate with Valerio Frascolla (Intel), Patrick Pype (NXP Semiconductors), and Ovidiu Vermesan (SINTEF) on this work.
