Raphael J. Morscher from the Kinderspital Zürich has received the Georg Friedrich Götz Award 2026. Congratulations! 💐 The prize recognizes outstanding medical research at the University of Zurich – this year, research that could help children with hard-to-treat cancer. 🏅 Morscher is being honored for his work on neuroblastoma, a severe form of childhood cancer. His research explores a new way to weaken cancer cells: Instead of attacking them directly, the approach limits the nutrients they need to grow. 🔬 In lab studies, this combination of medication and targeted diet slowed tumor growth. Even more promising: The cancer cells began to behave more like healthy nerve cells.
