A gut bacteria transplant can turn a failed cancer therapy into a working one. 🧬 In a Zurich study, patients who did not respond to immunotherapy received gut microbiota from successful responders. The result: in around 50 percent of cases, the previously ineffective treatment began to work. 💡 The key insight: it is not about a “perfect” bacteria mix. Instead, success depends on the patient’s immune system. A diverse T-cell repertoire and specific immune cells make the difference. The microbiome acts as a catalyst, activating existing immune potential rather than creating new responses. 👉 Discover how this shift toward precision medicine could open new options for cancer patients: https://lnkd.in/e_xtnNRD #UZH #UniversityofZurich #CancerResearch #Microbiome Universitätsspital Zürich Michael Scharl
