📈 More equitable educational opportunities go hand in hand with greater innovation. A new study by researchers at the University of Zurich and ZEW Mannheim demonstrates this correlation for the first time, across European regions and over four decades. Regions with higher educational mobility file significantly more patents. The researchers make it clear: equal opportunity is not only a social responsibility but also a factor in economic success. When talent is nurtured regardless of family background, innovation, competitiveness, and—in the long term—society as a whole benefit. Regions with low educational mobility, in particular, have significant untapped potential. 👉 More about the study: https://lnkd.in/eejQu3k6 #UZH #Education #Innovation Patrick Lehnert, UZH Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics Sarah McNamara, ZEW – Leibniz-Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung
