๐ Ardian Jusufi has been shortlisted for the Falling Walls Foundation Global Call for Science Breakthroughs 2026. The recognition honors his exceptional research that draws inspiration from nature to better understand how animals move and to develop more capable robots. ย ๐ฆ Animals can climb, land, recover from impacts and move through challenging environments with remarkable ease. To uncover the principles behind these abilities, Jusufi and his team develop soft robotic models that mimic key features of animal bodies. By changing properties such as body stiffness, tail function and sensor feedback, they can test how body shape and movement work together. The findings help create robots that move more safely and reliably while also offering a more ethical way to study animal locomotion, reducing the need for invasive biological experiments. ย Congratulations to Ardian Jusufi and the team at the Institute of Neuroinformatics on this outstanding recognition! ย #FallingWalls #ScienceSummit26 #LifeSciences #Biomechanics #3Rs #SoftRobotics #Biomometic #Robotics #UZH
