What happens when a medical team has to double its capacity overnight? Following the tragedy in Crans-Montana, the Burn Center at Universitätsspital Zürich has shown what efficient healthcare looks like under pressure. Chirurgical lead Bong-Sung Kim shares a glimpse into the intensive care unit in his recent interview with the Tages-Anzeiger: - Moving from 8 to 17 high-intensity cases, six of whom stay for long-term treatment. - Using skin transplants and lab-grown skin from Lausanne to save young lives. - Managing the psychological weight of treating these patients. While the road to recovery is long, the optimism of the team is a testament to the progress of modern reconstructive surgery and patient care. Our deepest respect goes to the doctors, nurses, and staff working around the clock. 📖 Read the full interview in German here: https://lnkd.in/eUssFBUc University of Zurich
