Last Friday, UWiB hosted its fourth annual Equitable Futures Case Competition for 2026, run by our wonderful Director of Case Competition Mia Tsai! After seven months of dedication, hard work, and collaboration, EFCC 2026 officially concluded on February 13th. Partnering with the Seattle Children's Hospital, Baker Tilly US, and lululemon, this competition brought together various students from diverse backgrounds to tackle a real-world case focused on Community Care Cooperative’s approach to address racial equity through financing efforts that serve underrepresented communities and issues within the organization.. A huge thank you to Adrian Soh, Shinjini Mitra Mustafi, Khoi Dam, and Arushi Choudhury from C-Squared for their unwavering support in shaping this impactful DEI-focused case. We were also honored to hear from Foster's very own Associate Dean Christina Fong, whose words inspired us all to continue making strides in the business world. This event would not have been possible without the incredible support of our corporate sponsors and judges from PATH, Seattle Children's Hospital, PwC, Deloitte, lululemon, Alvarez & Marsal, Premera Blue Cross, and the UW Foster School of Business—we are so grateful for your expertise and commitment to empowering students. Special shoutout to Kristy Lee, Mariela Martinez-Gonzalez, Stacia Marie Jones, Erica Orange, Alicia Tieder, Emily Goergen, Elizabeth James, Mara Curry, Dr. Josephine Young, Courtney Wallace, Gilbert Villalpando, Leta Beard, Kijel Carlson, Faraah Hassan, Julia Wignall for your time and contributions! A heartfelt thank you to our amazing EFCC 2026 leadership team—from securing sponsors to crafting an engaging case, marketing, logistics, and outreach, this competition was truly a success because of all of your hard work. We’re are also especially grateful to: - Amber Haiwen—your support was instrumental in making this event a success. - Professor Leta Beard, our amazing faculty advisor, and the rest of the volunteers, faculty, and students who made EFCC 2026 a reality. - Harshitha N., for her continuous support and guidance to UWiB! We can’t wait to see what EFCC has to bring in the years ahead! Thank you all for making this possible! 📸: Khoi Dam and Kandace Bui
