On June 15, 2026, the UW School of Medicine proudly honored graduates from its biomedical research PhD programs during the annual PhD Hooding Ceremony in the HUB Lyceum Room. Surrounded by family, friends, mentors, and colleagues, graduates crossed a milestone years in the making as they were hooded by their principal investigators and program directors. Each hood represented years of curiosity, resilience, innovation, and discovery marking the culmination of their training and the beginning of exciting new chapters in science, medicine, and beyond. We were especially honored to welcome Dr. Tina Albertson, Chief Science Officer at Caribou Biosciences and UW School of Medicine Pathology alumnus, who inspired graduates with her keynote address. We celebrate these remarkable scholars and the discoveries still to come. Here's to advancing science, improving lives, and shaping the future one breakthrough at a time.
