June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate the history, diversity and contributions of LGBTQ+ people and those whose determination and advocacy have helped create a more inclusive community for others. Pride is both a celebration and a reminder. It celebrates identity, courage and joy, while reminding us that for some, being fully seen and fully safe has not always come easily and cannot be taken for granted. UW Medicine commemorated the start of Pride with ceremonial flag raisings across multiple campuses, and celebrations will continue throughout the month at Pride events across the WWAMI region. For those interested in learning more, the Office of Healthcare Equity has put together a comprehensive Pride Month resource page outlining the history of Pride and the Stonewall Uprising as well as numerous educational and community resources. https://bit.ly/4x9tm2D
