After many years of extraordinary leadership and service, Dr. Suzanne Allen is retiring from her role as Senior Vice Dean for Academic, Rural and Regional Affairs at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Dr. Allen has been a passionate advocate for the WWAMI mission, helping strengthen medical education and healthcare access across Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. Through her leadership, she advanced regional partnerships, expanded opportunities for students, and supported the development of physicians who now serve communities throughout the Northwest. She also found ample opportunities for fun and levity along the way, forging lasting relationships with colleagues, students, legislatures and beyond. A family physician, educator and U.S. Air Force veteran, Dr. Allen has dedicated her career to caring for patients, mentoring future physicians and ensuring that high-quality medical education reaches communities across our five-state region. Her vision, compassion and commitment have shaped the WWAMI program in lasting ways and influenced countless lives. As she begins this next chapter, we extend our deepest gratitude for her remarkable contributions and wish her all the best in retirement. Thank you, Dr. Allen, for all you have done for WWAMI, the UW School of Medicine and the communities we serve. You will always be an integral part of our WWAMI-ly
