Let's stay in touch! Even though we're not in the same place anymore, let's keep contact. #UWCMstayintouch Alycia Diaz (UWCM ’19- ‘21): ❝Curacao's economy depends mainly on tourism. With restaurants and hotels having to close, unemployment numbers have risen to a shocking number. Where Food Banks would supply 350 families before covid, now 5000 packages are being distributed to provide for families in need. I was very happy to step in when the Food Bank asked for volunteers in order to help out. When more families turned out to be in need compared to what the Food Banks had anticipated I even bought products for these packages myself. I wanted to do something meaningful instead of sitting at home Netflixing myself through this crisis. Contributing something to society or on a smaller scale to the community, is ultimately also one of the reasons why I applied to UWC in the first place.❞ #uwcm #education #uwc #corona #commmunity
