We're honored to share that HCDE Professor Cindy Atman received the 2026 Sharon Keillor Award for Women in Engineering Education today at the annual American Society for Engineering Education conference! For more than three decades, Professor Atman's work has shaped how engineering is taught, studied, and practiced. Her research on engineering design thinking, commitment to mentoring students and researchers, and leadership in engineering education have had a lasting impact across the field. The award recognizes her exceptional teaching and mentoring, transformational approaches to engineering design education, groundbreaking research, and pioneering role as a woman in engineering education.
