A new, $11 million grant from the The National Institutes of Health's BRAIN Initiative will build better tools to observe brain activity in real time with even greater precision. The project is led by Professor André Berndt and focuses on genetically-encoded protein-based fluorescent indicators, or protein sensors, to map the neuronal activity that goes on in the brain and to understand neurodegenerative diseases. The team also includes researchers from Princeton University, Cleveland Clinic, Northwestern University, and University of Maryland. https://lnkd.in/g-JgH37S
