Congratulations to UW Bioengineer Rachel Yin! She is one of just 450 undergraduates nationwide to earn a Barry Goldwater Scholarship this year. The scholarship honors the next generation of researchers in science, engineering, and math. “Any passionate undergraduate who wants to do research can do research at the UW,” Yin said. “Everyone is excited for you to learn.” As part of the Nicholas Steinmetz Lab, she is helping to create a validated neurological map of the mouse brain. Building it will allow researchers target specific areas and create more cohesion among studies throughout the neuroscience field.
