In research that earned the Machtey Award for Best Student Paper at #FOCS2025, University of Washington University of Washington College of Engineering #UWAllen Ph.D. student Er-Cheng Tang and co-author Mi-Ying (Miryam) Huang at the University of Southern California presented the first #quantum state obfuscation scheme for unitary quantum programs in the classical oracle model. “We achieve program obfuscation in the fully quantum setting for the first time, enabling software that runs on quantum data to be provably protected,” Tang said.
