Join UVA Radiology & Medical Imaging for Grand Rounds on May 28 featuring Ji Hoon Shin, MD, Professor of Radiology at Asan Medical Center and the University of Ulsan College of Medicine in the Republic of Korea. Dr. Shin’s visit represents a meaningful continuation of a long-standing relationship between UVA Radiology and interventional radiology colleagues in Korea. Sixteen years ago, Dr. Shin completed a sabbatical year at UVA, helping establish an enduring academic and educational collaboration between our institutions. Today, Dr. Shin serves as Professor of Radiology at Asan Medical Center — the largest hospital in Korea — and is President of the Korean Society of Interventional Radiology. Since Dr. Shin’s time at UVA, more than 10 interventional radiologists from Korea have completed sabbatical training within our department, fostering years of continued international collaboration, education, and mentorship. Earlier this year, UVA Radiology faculty and residents also traveled to Seoul to participate in an international interventional radiology educational course alongside colleagues in Korea.
