🌟 Welcoming Our Newest Link Lab Member: Dr. Xun Zhao 🌟 UVA Link Lab is thrilled to welcome Dr. Xun Zhao, Assistant Professor in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering with a courtesy appointment in Electrical & Computer Engineering, as our newest member of the Link Lab community. Dr. Zhao’s work sits at the intersection of bioelectronics, artificial intelligence, and human health — advancing technologies that have the potential to redefine how we diagnose, monitor, and treat disease. In his own words: “My research focuses on developing unconventional bioelectronic systems enhanced by artificial intelligence to advance precision health. My work centers on creating intelligent sensors and robotic platforms that transform how we diagnose, monitor, and treat a broad spectrum of diseases, including cardiovascular disorders, skin cancer, and chronic lung diseases. My primary research directions include: AI-assisted flexible medical patches for cancer detection and monitoring Personalized implantable devices for cardiovascular disease management AI-enabled smart textiles and haptic suits for rehabilitation and physical therapy At the Link Lab, I am particularly excited about the diverse collaboration opportunities. I look forward to leveraging my expertise to co-design AI-assisted medical devices and systems with interdisciplinary collaborators.” We’re excited for the impact Dr. Zhao will make within our community and across the broader landscape of cyber-physical systems in health.
