We are proud to celebrate ITS's Dave Strite, Vice President for Support Services and Learning Technologies, and the University’s Digital Accessibility Working Group (DAWG) for winning this year’s Hoos Making an Impact competition! DAWG was created to ensure UVA's digital assets are accessible to all and provide accompanying resources and training to UVA faculty, staff, and students. DAWG is led by co-chairs Dave Strite and Barbara Zunder and is a partnership between UVA Information Technology Services (UVA ITS), the Office of the Provost, and the Office of Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights with representatives from schools and units across Grounds. The annual Hoos Making an Impact competition—sponsored by the UVA Staff Senate and the Office of the President—invites staff to propose practical ideas that strengthen the University and staff success. For the 2025-2026 year, the competition focused on innovations that improve quality of a process/service while saving time and reducing expenses.
