Energy systems are global. So are the solutions.  Three weeks ago, UVA hosted the German–American Energy Systems Symposium, bringing together leaders from the United States and Germany across academia, government, and industry.  From grid resilience and distributed energy to long-term futures like fusion, the conversations made one thing clear: tackling today’s energy challenges requires deep collaboration across disciplines and across borders.  We were especially honored to partner with the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, the Embassy of Germany in Washington, D.C., and the German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New York, and UVA OVPR to make this event possible.  At the Biocomplexity Institute, this kind of convening is central to how we approach complex systems, combining data, modeling, and domain expertise to support real-world decision making.  Looking forward to continued collaboration and the ideas that will come out of it.  #EnergySystems #TransatlanticCollaboration #DigitalTwins #AI #Sustainability #UVAResearch #GlobalPartnerships
