Under the proposal, suppliers would make repeated GSOP payments for ongoing customer disconnection issues, instead of the existing one payment per breach, but Energy UK's Ned Hammond told Utility Week said this should be approached “reasonably cautiously”. ⚡ Lithium-ion batteries dominate LDES cap and floor scheme projects Lithium-ion battery energy storage systems are the big winners in Ofgem's long-duration energy storage (LDES) programme, accounting for 11 of the 16 projects moving forward. Stonehaven's Adam Bell told Utility Week this has “important implications for the cost of decarbonisation”, but others have expressed concern that it will create a “class system” among energy storage technologies.
