Aboard USS CONSTITUTION, even sleeping arrangements reflected leadership and order. Enlisted sailors slept in assigned hammocks on the berth deck, packed closely together and rolled up each morning with their blanket and pad for storage along the spar deck rails. Marines slept between the enlisted men and officers, a deliberate choice that reinforced their role as the ship’s peacekeepers and helped maintain discipline on board. It’s a reminder that leadership is often built into systems, routines, and the careful management of people in shared spaces. 📸 Courtesy U.S. Navy
