USI honors Juneteenth, a day marking the end of slavery in the United States and a moment to reflect on freedom, progress, and continued opportunity for all. On June 19, 1865, federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, ensuring that enslaved people were finally freed. Today, we recognize the significance of this history and the importance of building stronger, more connected communities. Our offices are closed today in observance of Juneteenth.
