On New Year's Eve in 1968, 19-year-old infantryman Spc. 4 Raymond Williams was medevaced out of the Vietnam jungle. He returned home, but his Purple Heart was never formally awarded. Fifty-seven years later, his daughter, Kelly, coordinated a surprise ceremony with the U.S. Army at the Pentagon to finally present the 77-year-old veteran with the medal he earned.
