Sometimes the path to a career starts somewhere you'd never expect. 🌲 That's true for Essi Anttonen, who was working in the restaurant industry not long ago. Her path changed when she became a forest owner, which sparked her interest in the forestry sector. Now she's studying bioproduct engineering at Xamk - South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences. This summer, she's operating the wastewater treatment plant, the point where UPM Kymi's pulp and paper processes meet. It's work with real weight behind it: the mill's environmental performance depends on getting this process right.
