Amid rising and increasingly entrenched food insecurity, progress towards ending hunger demands collective, coordinated action. With the help of FAO and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), WFP is continuing to strengthen our joint collaboration through shared platforms and commons services that improve delivery and generate efficiencies at scale — helping scarce resources go further for the communities we serve. From joint resilience programming in fragile contexts — including Niger and the DRC — to growing collaboration on initiatives like the Great Green Wall in Senegal, teams are aligning efforts so complementary strengths reach more people and help break cycles of crisis. "FAO, IFAD and WFP share a unique partnership," WFP's Executive Director Cindy McCain remarked at this week's joint meeting of the agencies. "We have to keep pushing ourselves to align our mandates more effectively, efficiently and coherently, ensuring that our collective footprint delivers maximum results."
