Who will feed us tomorrow? We just launched the AgriFood Landscape DACH to answer exactly that 🌱 Together with IICM Consulting and Food Campus Berlin, our AgriFoodHub team mapped the relevant B2B players along the entire value chain - from seeds and farming through ingredients and input suppliers to packaging and side-stream valorization. The basis: a curated selection from over 600 B2B actors with DACH ties, analyzed with UnternehmerTUM's AI-supported classification model. What the Landscape reveals: 🔹 The ecosystem is clearly cross-border: Two of three startups sit in Germany, but there are many champions in Austria & Switzerland, a lot of potential for cross-border collaboration 🔹 The founding wave peaked in 2019-2021: Today’s players have weathered the venture downturn, making them the serious partners for industry collaboration 🔹 Innovation and industry are unevenly distributed. Side-streams are the busiest startup segment, yet only nine established companies operate there - an open door for industry partnerships "The biggest innovation potential emerges where startups and corporates work together with intent. Ventures bring new technologies and business models, corporates bring scale and market access, neither side gets there alone." — Nikola Baumschlager, Head of AgriFood Hub at UnternehmerTUM Thanks to Wirtschaftskammer Österreich and Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley for supporting this initiative, and to every founder and operator who made their work visible! This is only the DACH chapter, on 17.09, we're opening the lens wider.
