Why does the world need an Independent International Scientific Panel on AI— and why now? Panel members Loreto Bravo, Yutaka Matsuo and Sonia Livingstone answer that question directly. AI is advancing fast. Governments need a shared, independent scientific foundation, not fragmented claims or speculation, to make sound decisions. The Panel brings together 40 independent experts, selected from more than 2,600 applications across all five UN regions. In July, the Panel's Preliminary Report will be released.
