When Kelly Perdew and I first backed Apptronik, the idea of a humanoid robot working the floor at a Mercedes-Benz USA facility would have sounded like science fiction. This week, Apptronik earned a spot on the CNBC Disruptor 50, alongside Anduril Industries, Shield AI, and Saronic Technologies, a list that now reads like a blueprint for where American technology is headed. Kelly Perdew and I backed Jeff Cardenas, Luis Sentis, Nicholas Paine, and Kay Sheils Kingsbury because we believed they had both the leadership and the technical vision to solve one of the hardest problems in modern robotics: building a humanoid that could actually work alongside people in the real world. Not someday…now. Apollo is already on the floor at GXO Logistics, Inc. and Mercedes-Benz USA facilities, being developed further alongside Google DeepMind, and pushing toward the long-term vision of humanoid robots operating in space. Jeff and team didn't wait for the world to believe in humanoid robotics, they built their way to $5B+ in valuation before most people were paying attention. That's what we mean when we talk about extraordinary leadership Moonshots Capital: the ability to hold a long-term vision, recruit a world-class team around it, and execute through every year it takes to make it real. This recognition is well-earned. The next chapter for this team is going to be exciting to witness. Congratulations to Jeff, Luis, Nick, Kay, and everyone at Apptronik!
